1. Start by going to World Book Online
Remember you need your login and password to be able to access the program. Hint: Type in the name of the state that you want to research into the search box. Also, you may want to check out our reference area at the front of the library- We have a set of Britannica Encyclopedias for you to use as well.

Click on the state of your choice. You will find great information from the state capital to the state flag. Try this quick quiz on state capitals.

5. The public library has some interesting books
You may want to check out the picture books on Kansas or Iowa. There are also books available on Hawaii, New Mexico, Alabama, and many more. If you decide to use a book from the public library, please pay attention to the copyright date. You want to use current updated sources.

Now that you have reached the end of your research think about how you will present your information about your state. You can use PowerPoint, Prezi, Animoto, or Narrable to create a presentation to present to the class. Please look at the example PowerPoint on Delaware at the top of the page to help you with what information should be included. Good luck, be creative, and have fun!
